The bands debut album 'A Thousand Nights' was released during 2008 produced in NZ by The Sound Room and mixed and mastered by US producer Ed Goldfarb (KD Lang, Morcheba, Boys II Men). The New Freedom were awarded NZ On Air funding for the first single off the album 'What I Need' - the and single for which was released in May 2008.
The New Freedom are: Marshall Smith - vocals & keys / Tom Fox - vocals & guitars / Geoff Perkins - vocals & bass / Barry Widerstrom - drums & percussion
